Hi. I had a phone call today from the DWP to tell me they've made a decision, couldn't tell me the decision, and said the letter will be out within 10 days.
Is this how it normally works? I wasn't expecting a phone call and it has me wondering why.

It isn't normal for the DWP to phone a claimant in regard to their PIP, but this doesn't mean that it is something to worry about, the assessment report was very favourable, but you will need to wait for the Decision Letter.
You could try the DWP again, they are not allowed to tell the claimant the result until the letter has been sent, but once this has happened then they may tell you the result over the phone.

I phoned the DWP the day before the phone call to ask if a decision was imminent and spoke to a lovely Scottish lad named Brian. I told him that I was afraid of losing my car after having it for 16 years and he was really nice. He said he would chase it up with the relevant department and helped to calm down my nerves a lot.
Well, I received the phone call next afternoon and John, the lad who called me mentioned my chat to Brian and said the decision was on it's way.
So, here's hoping!

I phoned today and the award was indeed favourable, enhanced on both for 10 years.
