I guess the letter must have said SDP. I think there used to be something called Severe Disability Allowance which explains my mix-up.

Well if it's that much and there's no risk of reassessment I'll accept their invitation to apply for it. I was rather suspicious (I do suffer from paranoia) that they suggested it as they're not known for wanting to award people anything and normally do all they can to stop us claiming anything.

Having checked I note the letter says that anyone receiving either the standard or enhanced rate of the Daily Living component of PIP may be entitled to SDP. So basically anyone receiving the Daily Living component of PIP may be able to claim SDP.

The questions on the form are pretty much just asking if anyone receives Carer's allowance in respect of you and if anyone else is living with you.

HI DJ,

The other criterion for awarding the premiums is that the claimant must be in receipt of income related ESA, at least in part.
