ESA50 Query for Re-Assessment was created by Augustus
Hello Panel
I am currently in the ESA SG and I have had no indication that my re assessment soon has been deferred, as has been the case with some.
Firstly, can I ask whether there have been cases of re assessments being deferred at the last minute?
Also, assuming I will be re assessed as scheduled, I would like to complete the new ESA50 at my own pace with the aid of my family, and not have the worry of having only 3 weeks (at best) in which to complete. So, can you point me in the direction of the current version of this form, just so that the additional sheets I always use tie up in terms of question numbers etc etc?
I explained all this to the DWP and they implied that it was tough, and they said they cannot send these forms out early.
Many thanks

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

We don't have a view of how the DWP are deciding to defer an assessment, but I think it likely that it is only happening when the claim is flagged for review or perhaps a short time in advance of this.
You can download the latest version of the ESA50 from the following.

Thank you Gordon
This ESA50 refers to the Health Assessment Advisory Service
How does this body relate to Maximus? Is it another body I have to deal with?
Thanks

It's all to do with holding companies and contracts.
Maximus is the parent company, HAAS also known as the Centre for Health and Disability Assessment (CHDA) are the people who actually do the assessments.

I was in a similar position and two things which helped me with this:
1. The ESA50 is online so you can practice on that and save it so it would be ready
2. You can ask them for the ESA85A form which should tell you when they are going to reassess you for example mine was 18 months.
