I have just sent in my SSCS1 for my Pip tribunal hearing, including a letter I have just obtained from my doctor about my medical history/medication and also a letter my counsellor has sent me based on her assessment of me last Feb - June 2016. I have suffered long term chronic mental health problems since I was a teenager and have had numerous lots of counselling over the years, the last being last year but have now just read somewhere that only current evidence is counted? Does that mean my counselling letter will be of no use now, even though my condition is longstanding and the same? Thank you.
Newer evidence is better than old but it really depends on the conditions and the likelihood of change.
Tribunal panels usually take a more balanced approach to evidence than the DWP, the important thing is to show that the report is still applicable to your limitations as they are now.
