I returned my ESA50 a week before the deadline. I enclosed a letter from doctor from my GP, requesting a home assessment, as my severe anxiety and agoraphobia would make it "impossible" (GP's word) for me to attend an assessment in an unfamiliar place. I also enclosed a letter of my conditions - and how they affect me- from my support worker and my support plan from my social worker. I received a letter from Atos today telling me an assessment has been arranged for me - at the old job centre near me! Can they just ignore the medical evidence? I would have to take so much medication- just to get into a taxi - that I would be virtually incoherent. My support worker is coming to see me again tomorrow - to ring Atos and try and rearrange for a home assessment. I still have all the original copies of my evidence. I'miss so frightened - and would welcome any advice. Thank you for your time.
It is worth checking with Maximus (it's not ATOS anymore), that they have seen the GP letter, it's not impossible that it has been missed, they should also be able to tell you why it was insufficient to allow a home assessment.
