Should I mention my broken knee on ESA50

Hi,
Yesterday I received my new ESA50 for reassessment. At the moment, on top of my conditions that I am claiming for, I am recovering from a broken knee. I broke it almost 3 months ago and was in hospital for nearly 3 weeks. I am now using crutches to get around the house but for any distance I am using a wheelchair. Not self propelled as I couldn`t manage that with my ME and Fibromyalgia. My question is, do I mention the knee at all as it`s only temporary - perhaps another 2 - 3+ months or not? So I may or may not be using a wheelchair/crutches when I get my f2f appointment.
Sorry this is so long winded.

You don't say whether you would normally have mobility problems and whether you would therefore expect to score points for this?

I think you need to document the injury and it's effects whether you normally have problems or not, but especially if you would expect to score for this. If you don't then you run the risk of those assessing you attributing your problems to the injury and not your underlying problems, with the risk of you receiving fewer points than you should.

Thank you Gordon.

I do have mobility problems with my ME and Fibro - ME I`ve had for years and the Fibro only diagnosed earlier this year - but they tend to be ignored by the Assessor, despite walking causing pain and tiredness and my needing to stop and rest. Maybe it will be different with the Fibro.

Should I perhaps answer the walking question on the actual page and then mention the knee and related problems on the `Other information` page.

Thank you,

Ann

It's really whatever works for you, but it sounds like a good idea, I recommend trying to keep the format of your answers the same from one activity to the next.
