I was ready to go to my face to face PIP assessment today and just three hours before going I had a text from ATOS asking me to call them urgently, so I did and they informed me that they had cancelled the assessment.
I was very disappointed as It had taken me ages to mentally and physically prepare for this assessment because I have both mental and physical issues.
After cancelling my lift to the assessment centre I called the DWP and I was told that they could cancel an appointment once and that I could do the same so I wondered if anyone knows if this is true as I have noticed on your forums that many people have had several cancellations?
I was going to take new evidence in support of my claim and I asked if due to them cancelling I could now have a home visit as I am bad on my legs but they said no to that as they thought that I was O.K. to go out if accompanied by another person. (I have just been assessed for and awarded a Blue Badge since applying for PIP).
Could I submit the additional information to anyone else and request that I be allowed a home visit as ATOS are set against this idea and have rescheduled me with an appointment for next month?
