DLA to PIP

Hi, I have started the move from DLA to PIP. I have a question. My DLA is for the Mobility Component. I never claimed the Care Component. My health has deteriorated over the last few years and I am thinking about applying for the care component of PIP as well as the Mobility component. I am aware that there were age related rules on the claiming DLA. Is there such a rule for PIP. I am 67 in a few days and before I start the form I wanted to know if I can or cannot apply the care component of PIP.

There are no age restrictions regarding the care component of PIP. The mobility component cannot be increased once the claimant is past State Pension age (the rules are different for people being transferred from DLA, so this will not apply to you this time round).
