PIP Tribunal. No Representation was created by dancrane
I am attending my PIP tribunal in 2 weeks.
I don't have any representation and no witnesses.
Do you have any specific advice ?
Regards Dan

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explain where everything is
Welcome to Benefits and Work
In case you are not aware, your real name appears to be showing in the forum, if you want to change this then follow the instructions in the following FAQ
My full name is showing, how can I stop it?
Have you made a submission to Tribunal Service for the appeal?
If not then you have a very small window to do this, your papers need to be with the TS no later than seven days before the hearing.
Appeals are not always about new evidence, it may be that your existing testimony and evidence are more than sufficient to prove your case, but you do need to consider whether you need to address the issues raised by the assessor and DM that prevented you receiving the award you expected.
That said, PIP awards are made because the claimant has shown that they meet the criteria for one so you should also go through your PIP2, the assessment report and our PIP Claim guide to make sure that you have shown that you do in fact meet the relevant criteria. See our PIP guides on the following link.

Gordon,
Is there s section on Submissions. All your advice seems to be focussed on a representative for a client.
Nothing on just a client on there own.
Is a submission just a letter stating again what I disagree with and why?

There is a sample submission in the PIP mandatory reconsideration and appeal submissions document in the PIP section.
Yes you are stating why you disagree with the Decision but it is further opportunity for you to explain why you meet the Descriptors and should score points.

One of the reasons that claims don't receive the correct award is not the lack of evidence but the way the evidence is presented.
Try and make your submission concise and to the point. The tribunal will thank you for that, they don't want to read a lot of padding or irrelevant material. Try and put yourself in their position, what would you prefer ?

Gordon,
Thanks for that.
However Is there still time for me to ask for this to be heard by papers.
As I am attending on my own I honestly don't think I'm emotionally able to discuss my case in open court without cumbling.
For info it is just 1 point I'm after for using aids for Shower or toilet. I have been prescribed them , but DWP say even so I don't actually need them. - Doctor and Occ. Health Letters vs DWP nurse 20 min face to face?
Regards
Dan
