Hello all, I have a query, one the DWP staff can't seem to answer, check the internet is what they say. No information of any depth. I'm bi-polar, I get all of the support allowances for it, up to severely disabled. As a hobby I have printed my own T-shirts, with my own art. I wondering is there any route to try and turn this into some kind of p/time work. I can work the hours I want, at home. This could be either self employed or running a small company with me as sole owner/ director. [Yes, I have been asked Why bother] Dealing with the Job Center is like dancing in a mine field with a blind fold on. I only want to go there when I have a plan. Being told you are unemployable, does not stop me wanting to work, or at least try. The idea is to build a job around my mental health issues, not try and bend them to the needs of others. Any help or advice is welcome. Many Thanks
Just be aware that the DWP may make assumptions about your capabilities if this T-Shirt printing would be at odds with any of the reasons that you have been awarded ESA, so think carefully before pursuing the matter.
