I'd recently received a letter from DWP, informing me of a stoppage to my claim for ESA, for failing the WCA. So, today I'd got in touch with DWP to request a mandatory reconsideration to be put through.
The customer service agent, checked my case file on the system, and told me that on the 4th Sept. the DM had attempted to contact me in relation to the assessment under review.
The thing is he'd used an old mobile no. - the system hadn't been properly updated. As a result of this, I now have a DM appointed at some stage tomorrow.
I'm in need of as much advice as possible, as I have no idea what I'm in for.
When a claimant fails the WCA the Decision Maker can phone them in advance of their making the Decision to see whether there is any information that has been missed or misunderstood that might effect the Decision they are about to make.
I am guessing this is the call that you "missed".
You should have received an explanation of how the Decision was made, I would have a look at this and the ESA Claim guide to make a bullet point list of issues that you want to raise with the DM when they call, keep it with you or near the phone so that it is available for when they ring.
