By giving a home assessment, someone has accepted that you have a significant degree of impairment. The procedure will be much the same as if was being carried out in an assessment centre.
It is up to you which room is used for the assessment and who you have with you (we do suggest you should have someone there if possible). You do not need to make any special arrangements - you don't even need to get dressed if you would not usually do so.
The assessor has the same rights as any other visitor to your home. They do not have the right to 'snoop' around the rest of your home but, to be fair, nor have we heard of anyone wanting to do so.
The PIP guide has a section towards the back that explains what to expect on the day.
May I suggest that you bookmark/favourite this on your web browser now so that you can find it easily in future? This will allow you to return with further questions or comments about your PIP without having to start a new topic each time. We ask members to keep everything relating to the same claim in one topic as it helps us enormously - and I hope you will find it useful too
