esa re assessments was created by caroline sharp
I attended my second ESA assessment yesterday. My first one was two and a half years ago.
When she finished her questions she asked me to wait in waiting room while she rang dwp to make sure she had covered everything. Has any one else had this?

I would be surprised if it was the DWP, it's more likely that it was a supervisor or senior assessor.
It's not common but it does happen.

Yeah, happened to me 3 years ago, exactly the same, although I was not told the reason for the call or who she (assessor) was ringing, I thought it was bad news but I was put in the support group for 3 years from that assessment. I am not quite sure the reason why I had to wait in the waiting room while she rang, as after the phone call she came to the waiting room and just told me I could go home. All I can assume is she might have needed to ask me more info or something so kept me hanging on just in case. I thought she might have been ringing the DM to tell them the info they needed, as I found out that my doctor never replied to a ESA113 request so I had the F2F because they couldn't get enough evidence from paper for a support group entitlement.
So anyway, for me the phone call meant very good news as 3 years support group is best news you can get, but I can't of course promise the same will happen for you, but just know it doesn't necessarily mean bad news. Good luck !!

Thank you both for your replies. I hope I am put in the support group but I can't see it. Have been going over and over the questions I was asked and realise I should have said a lot more about my condition. The trouble is I broke down three times so became a total mess to answer questions.

Hi Benson
Thank you for your reply.
I hope my case is the same as yours. I have kept going over and over the questions I was asked and realise I didn't answers the questions properly or given the right answers. So worried. I have a long term health issue so not going to better.
How long was it before you heard?
Thanks

Hi Susy. Try not to worry, I thought I got everything wrong too. Oddly out of all the assessments I have had, the ones I thought went best are the ones I needed to appeal because I failed. The ones I thought who were rude and obnoxious assesors (or where stress got to me) are the ones I passed. Odd how that works.
