Pip Premium was created by Kimbychick
Hi,
My dad has just been awarded Pip standard daily living and enhanced mobility. He is also in the ESA support group.
Can you tell me if he will also get a disability premium now? He lives alone and no one claims carer's allowance for him.
Thanks

To receive any Premiums with his ESA he must be receiving Income Related ESA in part or in whole.
If he is not currently receiving ESA(IR) then he may be eligible with the addition of the Premiums resulting from his PIP award. ESA(IR) is dependant on household income and his savings and assets. See
Asset rule for ESA(IR)
If he is receiving ESA(IR) then he needs to notify the ESA team of his PIP award and ask for payment of the Severe Disability Premium this requires anIS10 to be completed, it may be possible to do this over the phone. It asks about living status and if anybody received CA.
If he is not receiving ESA(IR) but thinks that he can then he needs to contact the DWP office dealing with his claim an request an ESA3 form which captures information about his financial status.

Thanks for your reply.
I have asked him if it is income related ESA and he is unsure. He only knows he is in the ESA Support Group and has been the past few years.
How do you find out the difference from Income Related ESA and ESA? I wasn't aware there was a difference myself.
Thanks

As he is in the SG he is also entitled to the Enhanced Disability Premium, if he is on ESA(IR) then this will show as the Disability Income Guarantee on his annual entitlement letter. If he is just receiving ESA(CB) then it will just refer to the Personal Allowance and the Support component.
