Following a bàttle I got my enhanced care and lower mobility for PIP. My MS is in remission with 3 flare-ups in past six months. I have been offered a job but it involves a degree of mobility, walking and hand flexibility 4 mornings a week. Question - should I tell DWP if I get the job therefore presumably lose all the PIP or try the job first? I am worried a return to work could cause a flare-up leaving me unable to continue working ànd with PIP gone unable to pay the bills. That being said PIP only in place for another year then will be reassessed all over again. Any advice please?
PIP is not a work relates benefit so there is no specific requirement for you to tell the DWP that you are starting work but your post suggests that you are concerned whether the work will be at odds with your Mobility award (at the least), under these circumstances it may be to your disadvantage if you do not tell the DWP!
If you do then you will almost certainly be reassessed, a new claim form and a face to face assessment.
You should expect your existing award to be reassessed one year in advance of it ending.
