Have read about the claimant who recorded his assessment, had his mobility car refused, then took the recording to the tribunal where the decision was overturned. I must say my case was not as bad as this, but the assessor ignored a lot of what I wrote on the form and what was said at the assessment, regarding needing help from another person. The HP agreed that I needed to use aids to carry out certain tasks, and awarded me 2 points for each one stated, but didn’t mention the help I needed which would have given me more points. I was awarded the standard rate care component of PIP. I requested a reconsideration, which came back with the same result. Because I had received the lowest rate personal care component of DLA, my PIP award was more than twice as much money, I decided not to take it further to tribunal as I found the whole process very stressful.
