You can access your medical records at your GP practice, there will be a charge
Requesting your medical records
Charging for medical records
It may be cheaper than the GP letter.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Thank you Gordon
Unfortunately, too late now
I was also given to understand that DWP would get GP to confirm, write and they would pay?
seems I am very misguided and nieve.

I can undertake your level of panic and would Like to offer the following support, having won my PIP appeal.
If you are unable to get a letter, statement or n' owt from your overworked Gp, write your statement about your health, date it and sign it. Include any prescription copy, as it shows you have seen a Dr, any over-the-counter medicines, photocopy the receipts, document any attendance at A&E, walkin centre, GP surgery, Pharmacist advice or phoning NHS helpline. In addition, any support from any professional. Social or care who help you. Asked them to write a letter of support.
Following the advice On this site about keeping a "symptoms diary" and if you can, get an appt with a welfare rights advisor or citizens advice for free. All of this can be submitted to court prior to Tribunal, event if you fail the mandatory reconsideration(must do). This gives the Judge the opportunity to ask you about all these submissions and answer honestly.
You will not be the only Person the Appeal jury will seen with little medical evidence, but fight for your rights.
May I wish you good luck and success.
