hi , can you tell me when payments would start for a new claimant if successful, would it be backdated to first pip telephone claim call date ? also when would payment start for a claimant who is transfering from dla would the dla stop on date of assessment and change to pip or do they give a months grace. many thanks bb.

For a new claim for PIP, with no DLA in payment, payments should be back dated to the day the claim was made, providing there are no issues with the three month rule for having a limitation.
Where a DLA award is in payment, the DLA will continue for four weeks after the Decision is made and then the claimant is moved to PIP, there is no backdating.
