News item: ESA claimants underpaid. was created by Orangeblossom
I am writing about the recent B & W news item about people being underpaid from around 2011, when being moved from IB to ESA. I found this further info online about it www.disabilityrightsuk.org/news/2017/nov...illion-due-dwp-error
It seems it is about people going from IB to cont based ESA without an assessment of income. This happened to me. But I'm unsure if it would affect us as we were also claiming tax credits, so that is income assessed. I'm unsure if it affects me and wondered what you thought. Is there any way of knowing or is it just a case of waiting for them to contact us. Thanks.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

OB
It would probably effect you, but you may not be entitled to any back payment due to the Tax Credits which would be treated as income for any ESA(IR).

Yes, and as Cont based ESA is taken into account in the tax credits calculation, if it went up in any way i would have needed to declare it for the tax credits, which means they would go down. So it's not worth bothering with in my case.
