When is it best to reclaim PIP was created by elaneheff
Hi everyone, my PIP award runs out on 1 March 2018. I just got the letter telling me that I would need to reclaim if I stlill need help
am wondering when the best time to make the new claim is.. should I do this right away? i had to go to appeal to get my benefit and they are likely to refuse me again and another appeal process etc etc so I don't want to claim too early and end this award. I dont want to claim too late either becasue I am losing my job I think due to so much time off sick

My full name is showing, how can I stop it?
The DWP quote 16 weeks for a new claim, there have been delays in the assessment process so it could be longer.
Basically you are aiming for the a new Decision to be made the day after your current award ends so that there is no period without payment.
The other thing to consider is whether you would reasonably receive the same result, less or more. If less then you want the new Decision to be made as late as possible as the new award will be applied immediately, if more then as soon as possible.
