Hi, Can I just ask for some advice on UC please. I am very confused about it all. I work but my husband does not and is in receipt of ESA SG and PIP higher rate care and mobility.Would he have to be reassessed even though he he has already had a reassessment for PIP and ESA in july and October this year? Can he stay as he is, claiming ESA and PIP separately or will he be forced to claim UC? Its all very confusing and any info or guides would be very much appreciated
I assume your husband is receiving Contribution Based ESA is you are working. At some time starting in about two years, existing ESA claimants will begin to be transferred to UC and what is called New ESA, I would expect your husband to be transferred to the latter. There are no details oh how this is to be done available yet, it may coincide with a reassessment or it may be done as an administrative process, which should not require reassessment.
PIP does not come under the UC umbrella.
