Is it possible to fax stuff to the DWP, say for consideration in PIP? Both for speed and economy. They told me it was not possible to email, but if anyone has any fax numbers or email addresses that would be great.

I'm not aware of any fax numbers that are in the public domain and as you have been told the DWP will not accept contact via email without prior authorisation.
If you need to get something to them quickly and relatively securely then make an appointment at your local JC+ office and they can scan the documents and email them (using the DWP email system) to the relevant department.
