DLA lower rate claimant needs help was created by Peter
Good morning all & happy Easter. I have had DLA lwer rate for about 8 years.....my lifetime award in 2012 said that it was because I could not prepare a meal. I am sure there were other reasons , but thats what it said on the form. I now have to claim PIP...does this previous award mean anything in may favour ? Additionally I am a very private person and do not attend hospitals etc....I find that makes me worse & I cope with life as best I can by myself. Wil this lack of supporting evidence affect my claim....I am happy to be seen by anybody they want me to & will fill thee form in to the best of my ability, Thank You

I'm afraid the criteria for DLA Care awards and PIP Daily Living ones are fundamentally different so I think it unlikely that you current award will help, but that does not mean that you claim will be unsuccessful, the difference in criteria can actually favour some claimants.
Not having evidence will certainly bot help, but we have seen members be successful with just a diagnosis letter from many years ago, so it is not as bad as it sounds, but you may want to speak to your GP about your problems to see if they can help.

Thanks Gordon....to be honest I never found my GP helpful and my condition is a mental health one ...she knew I had a complete breakdown in 2014 i was diagnosed as bi polar....she does not know my home circumstances and how i get though life...to be honest I didnt want her knowing my business in that area....I wil fill the form in to the best of my ability with the aid of your guide and see how it goes .
