Hi can someone answer my question.Gordon would be good or anyone available soon thanks in advance. I have a long term.condition cfs M.E along with morbidly obesity BMI over 47. I have GAD anxiety disorder of which i have suffered for 20 years. The CFS for 3 years diagnosed. As you can properly tell see. Its unlikely now to improve. Its going take me years to lose weight as its so slow coming down as i got thyroid problems to. So thats a disability in its self isnt it? Please clearify if it is. The specialist at the Cfs clinic. Has written a letter to my G.P. saying i have done as much as i can for the rehabilitation but it looks like i still will have this long term. As i still find i cannot rehabilitation me any further and i have it severely but stable if i do the resting periods. And referred me as case closed. She says to G.P please can she support me now with evidence letters for my medicals upcoming. They will be not yet but in the next six month's. She says please use the old functional letters she did for me and if G.P could assess me. If needed Say theres no change in a letter. Now my concern is will this be enough. It feels its a way out of the cutbacks to nhs services. And its going to affect my evidence needed and support. As the G.P cant do a functional letter but im sure she will write one saying shes assessed me and theres no change in my condition. But will this be enough if its the same G.P there by then. But they should give some letter they did before. Do you advise me best to ask to be rereferred back to cfs. As my condition is getting. Worse lately not improving not helping me this concern. Cfs said they may consider refereel but not a one off for benefit reasons letters. Im very confused causing me anxiety. As i know the medicals last time. Went purely on the evidence from the Cfs specialist more they went by not what the G.P wrote. And it will be out of date a old letter year old. Also i heard on here people getting there claims reduced pip esa after for not having letters up to date. Cfs says its enough old letter as theres no change likely. It seems another ploy by the Government to try cut our benefits. As i need it the same not reduced by no fault of my own. G.P. just says she cant give functional reports. But if its unchanged then G.P could say she assessed me and. Feels i have unchanged will that be enough. Or should i consider going privately to a Cfs specialist although i cant afford it. would it give me a better chance. Any advice details i be grateful for soon thanks nicky.

There's no reason why older evidence and letter cannot be used providing the claimant can show that they are still relevant to their conditions and limitations when they are assessed, a letter from your GP confirming this should be sufficient and is more than many claimants are able to source.

Hi thanks for reply. But i felt the support i needed ongoing at the clinic. As i still have the symptoms and they were getting worse. I forgot the plan they wrote out as it wasnt working. So i think im better of asking to be rereferred again. Ask the G.P as the CFS is the one to give support and letters. She said could ask in the future to be referred if its getting worse. I noticed people getting it reduced pipon here if they didnt have sufficient updates. Or does it vary each person. I will fillout how it affects me fully on the form. But i felt the last medical advisor was just going by the specialist lettee and ignored what i said thanks nicky.

I can't advise whether you should ask to be referred again, that has to be your decision.

PIP claims fail or are successful for a wide range of reasons, not having medical evidence is not always a major problem, a number of members have reported success with nothing more than a diagnosis letter, though as a general rule, the less evidence you have the more detailed your PIP2 will need to be.
