supporting letter was created by Grace
Hi, I am trying to get a supporting letter from my specialist to use as written evidence for my PIP tribunal. I have been asking them for months now. I keep being told that either the letter is waiting to be signed, oh it hasn't been done yet etc, etc. I called them again this morning to be given another excuse. I asked for them to be honest with me and did the specialist really want to do the letter. She said he is happy to do it. I don't know if it's just a game to them. But it is causing me a lot of frustration and I feel quite angry about it.

My question is: do I need a letter from the specialist for my tribunal or is there another way of providing evidence of my condition and difficulties to them. Also do you think it would help if I sent a confidential letter to the specialist asking him personally to write me a supporting letter rather than keep having to go through the receptionist. I've even thought about going to the hospital and not leaving until I get the letter.

Whether you need the report is something only you can really answer.

Have you spoken to your GP about the support they can provide?

You can request a copy of your GP records which should include letters from your specialist.

Hi Graham, if I knew whether I needed written evidence for my up coming tribunal, regarding my illness/disability I wouldn't be asking the question.

You asked "do I need a letter from the specialist for my tribunal", how can I answer this for you, all you have mentioned is that it is for a PIP appeal, I looked back at your previous posts and you were talking about an ESA claim.

I've no idea what the basis of your claim was, what evidence you have already submitted and how effective it was, you don't even mention what your Specialist, specialises in.

You are the only person who understands what is going on with your claim and whether this report is important or not.

Every hospital has a 'Patient Experience Team', you should be able to find their email/telephone details easily online. The PET team liaise directly between patients and healthcare providers to resolve issues quickly.

Try putting your request for a letter through PET. Tell them about the broken promises and the importance of this letter.

Kind Regards and good luck
