ESA Face to Face Assessment by telephone

Hi. My son was due to attend a F2F Assessment today at a medical centre but it was cancelled by them as they had not received all the paperwork. Today I received a message on my mobile saying they will be conducting the interview by telephone on Saturday 5th May at 10am. I am confused as to why they would do this by phone as I thought it had to be F2F. Should I be wary of a telephone interview? I will put the phone on speaker so I can hear what is being said as my son gets confused. Will I be able to ask for a copy of the report - I assume it will be the same process as in a F2F.

Thanks for your reply. It is a new claim. I also sent an email to Health Centre and they say they have no record of him being referred. Annoyed with myself for accidentally deleting message. I will ring local centre tomorrow to see if they know anything.

Just wanted to put in an update. I had an email from a very helpful lady who said that they had received new evidence which was being reviewed. If my son had to have an assessment they would write and send an appointment. They knew nothing about the message. I will just have to wait and see if I get a phone call on the 5th May to find out who it was!
