I had my home assessment with Atos last week and they have returned the report to dwp but they say they haven't got it yet and it has to be scanned on system and this can take up to a week. Can you confirm this is correct? Also, I read on another benefits forum that sometimes case managers ask for a second opinion on an assessment report they have received, and it is not to the advantage of the claimant, have you heard of this? Thankyou

The process is correct but I would expect it to only take a couple of days.
Again, if the DM has questions about the evidence presented that are not addressed in the assessment report then they can return the claimants file to the assessor for further comment, I can't think of any reason why this would not be to the advantage of the claimant.
