DLA to PIP was created by pearl
My husband has managed to stay out of hospital for over 25yrs.The stress of transfer from DLA to PIP has been the last straw for him though, having to press for a home assessment and even arranging to pay an advocate to support him. Yesterday it was all too much and he is now in hospital under section for 28days. Thankyou DWP. Wonder if they will continue with DLA when I tell them to cancel his home assessment and also make another one for him!

Hello Mrs M Love,
Im sorry to hear that your husband is now in hospital. You will be able to change his appointment once but if you then cancel again then it is likely his file will be returned to the DWP and the claim closed. The decision to close the claim is appealable with good grounds.

If your husband has been in hospital for 28 days then you must tell the DWP as his DLA payments have to be suspended after this period.
