Hi I sent in a Mandatory Reconsideration request for my PIP a month ago, and a second letter 2 weeks later with more medical evidence and a copy of the Mandatory Reconsideration request. I haven't had a response or an acknowledgement of receipt. Is that normal? Should I phone them to check? I'm scared to call in case they put pressure on me to withdraw it. Thanks Ivy
The DWP do not usually acknowledge an MR request unless they have the claimants mobile number in order to send a text and not always then.
I'm afraid you will have to phone them, however, you will only be talking to the call centre staff so there should be no worry of them trying to dissuade you from the MR.
