Could somebody please clarify something for me. A pip form was filled up and i have had multiple telephone calls all with differing information including one saying paper base assessment, one with an appointment for assessment at an assessment centre, one saying home visit and one saying file to be closed. The condition has got worse and i would like to know If i can notify them without being told i will have to start a new claim. As yet i have only received in writing the appointment at the assessment centre but i have recorded the telephone calls all of which were made after the letter and the last one was re: home visit. Thank you
If your husband has not had the assessment yet then you can notify them of any deterioration in his conditions since the claim form was completed, write a letter detailing the changes and give it to the assessor before they start the assessment and ask them to read it and include it in his file before they return it to the DWP.
I would also send a copy directly to the DWP with a covering letter explaining what it is, send it to the DWP office dealing with his claim.
Be aware, the PIP legislation requires limitations to have affected the claimant for at least three months before they can be considered as part of an award so the changes may still be ignored at this time but could still result in a deferred award.
