I doubt any employer would employ someone on a lot of pain meds.
It does but it depends on how it affects you.
So for some people medication removes their limitations and allows them to be functional, for others it is only a partial solution at best and they still suffer significant limitation. For others the medication causes additional symptoms, so they have relief in one area to the detriment of another.
You need to explain how your medication affects you.
