I am really confused. With WCA reassessment what does pre board check mean and re referral scrutiny mean? What is the difference and what will it mean for someone who has been on ESA support (without a medical) for nearly 4 years. Thanks
A pre board check used to be done by the DWP when initiating a reassessment of an ESA claim, it is to decide whether it is necessary to send the claimants file to the Assessment Provider, they may still do it but they have lost almost all of the in-house medical experience that they had so if they do it is likely to be more restricted than it was.
Re-referral scrutiny is done by the AP (Maximus) before they issue an ESA50 to see whether they can make a recommendation without needing to contact the claimant, they may write to the medical contacts that they have on file such as the GP for further information.
