Also, i was advised by my union RCN that there would be no financial benefit to me applying for contribution ESA as opposed to UC. Was this the correct information to be given in light of my either being in the LCW or LCWRA group?
It will be added on, remember these are monthly payments and the figures that you see for ESA are weekly, that said LCWRA under UC pays more than the equivalent for ESA.

If you can get help then it is usually a good thing, just remember that this is your claim so if you are not happy with anything then say.
