I currently receive PIP for my Depression and Anxiety. The award runs until September 2020.
A rheumatologist has diagnosed me with EDS type three and I am unsure whether I should advise the DWP. I recently had my ESA reawarded. I am just confused as to what to do.

So I assume you have had the condition for some time, have any of the problems that you have with completing the PIP activities increased?

If not then you do not need to tell the DWP. If they have, is this sufficient for you to score the extra points for a higher award?

If you reasonably think that you would receive a higher award then you should consider contacting the DWP to report a Change , you need to do this in writing to the DWP office dealing with your claim, I would send it using a Tracked post so that you have proof of delivery as the date of the letter should be used for any new award.

Be aware, reporting a change will result in a new PIP2 being issued and you will almost certainly have to attend a face to face to face assessment, the new Decision will supersede your current award, whatever it might be.

At the time of my original PIP assessment my EHD had not been diagnosed. I was just clumsy and “double jointed”. Breathing and getting around with a collapsed lung eventually tells on you though.
