I have a query about the ESA annual uprating letter.

Our son was on contribution only and is now on contribution with income related top up.

The letter says:-

Your Living Expenses
Extra money because of the Disability Income Guarantee
Extra Money because you are in the Support Group
Which gives a total income-related amount

Is this correct? We were expecting the letter to state the contribution based amount and then the income related top up so it was clear he was still on Contribution ESA with top up rather than giving the total as an Income Related amount.

The ESA system is unable to cope with claimants who are receiving both ESA(CB) and (ESA(IR) so they are treated as being on ESA(IR) only.
