  			 				Hi there

I posted a few months back now as I had applied for PIP and had been waiting months for my face to face. Well I applied in mid Feb and here we are approaching mid October and I STILL have not had an assessment. I phoned my MP who chased this up and they assured him they'd contact me within 2 weeks. That was three weeks ago. My health is delcining. I am only 34. I now struggle to leave my house. The council state they won't consider a blue badge without the pip decision. My mental health is declining. I have exhausted the services available to me (OT etc). I have to ask other parents to collect my children from the car, or expect them (my eldest is only 9!) to get out the car and walk into education etc alone. I really am at the end of my tether and have no idea what more I can do. Can anyone please help?

  			 				Hi Rebecca

Sorry to hear you are going through this. It's clearly unacceptable. I can't be very helpful here. The only thing I can suggest is contact your MP and say that you have heard nothing. If you have someone who can speak on your behalf ring get them to ring up the DWP, ask to speak to a manager and explain the situation. Obviously you can put in an official complaint, but right now you just need your case sorted.

  			 				Hi Rebecca

I am sorry you are struggling and I can't help you with advice regards PIP etc but having gone through a very difficult experience myself when my youngest son was 3/4 and attending preschool, I found myself in the position of needing help from others. Schools often have parental support advisors who can help out. Have you sought out assistance from your childs school?

Thank you so much for your reply. They just keep telling us there are no assessors for my area. I live in a London Borough so it seems outrageous to think there are no assessors here! It's more than just the financial impact here it's the fact the pip decision can passport me to things like the blue badge which would actually allow me to attend my appointments. I had to cancel a physio appointment this week in tears because my appointments are in Central London and it is unrealistic for me to drive there as there is no parking without a blue badge. I was not feeling low etc upon applying for pip, I felt I was getting the help I needed. Now I have to weigh up if I can leave the house and manage to get home again. I have contacted my MP back to rechase this. I've asked my gp for a mobility assessment to try and give as much evidence as I can without the f2f. The OT report has largely covered the daily living side.
