My mum receives DLA and I’m her full time carer since my father passed away getting CA and IS. I have had a stressful month worrying and trying to get my mums PIP 2 form finished (she can’t read and write since suffering a brain injury from a subarachnoid haemorrhage) so trying to fill in the form with her is hard. Anyway i received a letter with a two week extension without requesting it. So spent the last two weeks getting everything together which went down to the wire finishing it off. Managed to be able to send it on the 18th next day Guaranteed by sat 1pm but It doesn’t look like the mail handling centre got it.
So I assume the DLA will cease along with my CA and IS. What is my best option from here ?
You need to phone them ASAP to see if they will give you any more time. Some people have been granted another further two weeks. There are a lot of problems with the post. You probably don't want me to say this now, but always give yourself some wriggle room. If they won't grant it, yes there is a risk of the claim being closed and you having to start again.
