Compliance letter was created by MandyL
I am really hoping for advice. I have received a letter about a compliance telephone interview for next week. I have no idea what its about. I receive esa support group and pip high rates for both. I haven't worked. The only thing i can think of is that I haven't told them about holidays and stays in hospital as i thought you only needed to inform if you are away more than 28 days.
As well as being physically unwell i also suffer extreme anxiety and depression. My appointment is next week but I really don't know how to manage until then without suffering a breakdown. Any advice would be wonderful

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi Mandy L
A compliance interview is looking at the benefits you are being paid and any other household income. Sometimes people are selected at random (and it comes to nothing), sometimes they are given because someone's circumstances have changed (and there may be an underpayment or an overpayment) and sometimes it is because someone has reported fraud (real or malicious). You can ring the DWP and ask them why you are being interviewed (or get someone to do it on your behalf). It may be better than worrying for another week.

Thank you for your advice. I called and had a chat with the person that is going to do the telephone interview. She asked if i had done any self employed work which i definitely haven't and not even capable of. She replied dont worry too much we will talk about it next week.
So I have to wait and see. Still worried why they would think that

Hi MandyL
It could be someone with the same name as you. It happened to my partner some years ago, same name & DOB, but wrong address. Good Luck!
