Working with Fibromyalgia

Working with Fibromyalgia was created by Cat
I’ve been struggling with my health for the last 6 years and in April was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia. I currently work and have reduced my hours from 39 to 34 which I work over 4 days. Work is becoming increasingly difficult, I have no support from my GP, and am worried that either work will sack me for being sick or I’ll not be able to work eventually. I’ve just took the PIP assessment on here and it says that I’ll be eligible for it but what I don’t know is if I will get anything due to working. My self confidence is at an all time low, anxiety is through the roof and I can’t go anywhere without my husband and I’m just feeling I have no where else to turn. Any advice would be welcomed.

It will obviously depend on your limitations but I'm afraid your working and in particular, the hours that you are doing will count against you, you will need to explain how you manage to work four days and are still limited in regard to PIP activities.

Cat, how do you feel about changing your GP? It may be beneficial for you to find another that you have a better patient/doctor relationship with. Do you have any idea why your GP is unsupportive?
