eBay was created by Alybongo65
Good afternoon I’m after some advice please I’m on esa and have had a letter saying EBay trading is buying and selling so I effect working
I have had a account since 2017 & bought and sold 81 things in that time ...
They have also said that they have ignored any items I already own ....I’m rather confused and extremely worried ...I may have bought a few things and not been keen when arrived or didn’t fit but feel very intimated
There saying with me buying listing packing and posting ...I am working
Any advice please I called eBay help line and the gentleman was extremely helpful and said 81 in that time is a personal account and definitely not classed as anything other than selling and buying a few things .

Hi Alybongo65
There are no permitted work rules relating specifically to Ebay.
If you are simply selling unwanted possessions, this is very unlikely to count as remunerative work.
If you are trading, however, then it would count as work that would need to be declared. So, if you are buying things with the intention of reselling them to make a profit that would be something you would need to declare. Such trading could come within the permitted work rules, depending on hours and income.
You can check out our booklet on permitted work. It is the second one down on the page

You may need to find a specialist benefits adviser to help you with this who you can talk to face to face. You would need to google 'benefits advice and your postcode.
