your benefits when you change move to new county was created by evemuz
What happens to my benefits, I have move to a new region and county. Relationship with my husband is not working well due to my mental and physical illness. I have decided to move to where my daughter is but living alone. I have been dependent on my husband for almost everything. My daughter has agreed to support me as much as she can eg. Shopping for my groceries taking me for appointments cleaning etc. She thinks that if I m no longer happy living with her father then it will worsen my illness. I agree with her. I haven't informed department of work and pensions or Job centre. I am in the work group. I need advice on what I must do. I am very anxious. I live alone but I get a lot of support from my daughter. I am very law, anxious and depressed. I have dislocated lower back discs, shoulder and knee injuries after being pushed out of a moving vehicle by a mental health patient while at work. Please help.

Hi Evelyn
This is outside of the scope of what we deal with on the forum and you will need to consult the government website on this matter - which hopefully has all the information you need.

Hi Evelyn
I take it you mean that you have moved to another region within the UK, if you move within the same LA then you will still be able to keep any legacy benefits.
If you move out of area to a different local authority, within the UK, unless you are in receipt of a SDP, if you were claiming ESA then you would now have to apply for UC. If you are in receipt of PIP then that will not change.
You will need to inform DWP that you have move.
I would advise you to seek advice from your local welfare right centre/Citizens Advice as they can ask you all the relevent questions when giving you advice.
