Success with the UC this is for a freind of mine so we thank all at benefits & work for all there help. Can you tell me what this means & what the excemptions are ? they say,
"The extra money is awarded from 3 months after the date you
first gave us evidence of your health condition or disability,
unless an exception applies."
they also say
"we have decided
that you have limited capability for work and work-related
activity".
is this support group ?

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi jlg
Absolutely delighted to hear that your friend has been placed in the support group. They will get an extra £336.20 pcm. We are pleased that you found B&W helpful.
You asked the question 'what the exceptions are' , this means that the waiting period will not apply :
• If terminally ill
• If being transferred to UC and already getting a LCW or LCWRA
• If was getting a disability element in the past 6 months and UC stopped because of too much earnings.
• If was getting an element before the UC award stopped because claimant ceased to be/ or became a member of a couple for the purpose of the new award of UC.

Hi jlg
I did amend the post but you were quick to reply, so here it is again.

• If was getting a disability element in the past 6 months and UC stopped because of too much earnings.
