Really worried was created by juststu
I have recently filled in a pip review form. I have explained that I had been taking Diazepam for 13 years, but two years ago the doctor decide to take me off them and reduce by gradually weaning me off them over a period of roughly 18 months. My doctor has referred me for psycotherapy treatment, which I have had an initial interview and on the waiting list to start one to one treatment. I am worried now. Although my conditions haven't changed shpould I have told the dwp this as a change at the time I came off diazepam. Will I get into trouble about this, really worried now. I never thought about it at the time.

If your limitations have not changed then there was no obligation on you to notify the DWP.

Thank you Gordon. I have let them know in the PIP Review form I recently sent back.
It was an after thought that I probably should have told them before. I have got myself all worked up about it and didn't know what to do.
Will they delve deeper into this now that I have let them know?

It will depend on how well you have explained your current limitations and why you stopped taking the medication in the form, has the Diazepam been replaced by something else? If not then there may be an assumption that your limitations must have now reduced to allow you to stop taking the drug, so what you have written in the form may be important.

I wrote explaining that the doctor told me that I had been on Diazepam for such a long time (13 years) that they were not effective anymore, and that I was dependent on them, so doctor had to gradually wean me off them, and it took 18 months. Doctor said they should only be used short term. They weren't replaced with any other medication. Doctor said I would need psychotherapy which I am on waiting list to start. My conditions haven't changed but I feel so worried now

You need to try and park your concerns, I know that this is a lot easier to say than to do but with assessments suspended for at least three months there is a risk of you making yourself a lot worse by worrying.
You could have a think about what you have sent on the form and whether there are any areas that you could improve or explain differently if there are then write a letter and send it to the Assessment Provider and the DWP office dealing with your claim.
