Timescale For Return of PIP Application

More

After years of dithering, I finally decided to apply for PIP.

I contacted DWP on 04/06/20, and they posted the application pack to me.
On 12/06/20 I contacted them again as pack had not arrived.
I was told the return timescale has been extended and is now three months.
The pack arrived on 13/06/20.
The return date printed on the pack is 04/07/20.

Does anyone know whether there is or is not an extension to the return date?

Hi Ghirl1

I have heard quite a few members being told they have been given a three month extension, but there has been no official announcement of this. I would ring again and check and then if you want that extension, I would send a letter to the DWP confirming the telephone conversation you've had. Normally you would receive a letter from them after a couple of weeks offering you an extension and this might still be the case.

Thank you, BIS.

I'll do my best to complete the form and return it before the 04/07/20 date. That seems a lot less stressful than being on hold for 84mins to have a 2min conversation.

Hi Ghirl#1

I understand. That's what I'd do in your position.
