Stuck in PIP Limbo with New Health Issues was created by Tuliptrees
Hi All,
A Question
My PIP review forms were returned by the AP to DWP in February this year. Then Coronavirus. Hence PIP expired and I was put on a six-month extension (October 2020).
Since returning my Review forms and evidence late last December my existing health issues have deteriorated and new issues added. Most are cancer-related and relating to ongoing problems with radiotherapy, which I will now have for life apparently thanks to a particularly antagonistic/argumentative tumor.
I have twice had failed surgery to remove the particularly challenging tumour and have now been referred to a 'specialist consultant' 200 miles from home, whom I meet tomorrow to discuss options etc.
Naturally, I am keeping DWP updated. But my question is 'Am I being hopeful that all the relevant letters and reports I am sending through to them on a regular basis will be considered (in time for a decision), and will it likely be a paper-based or telephone decision) or am I just wasting my time, effort, energy and money?

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi Margo
I think you are wise to keep them updated - what impact they will have on the decision, I can't say, especially when they are new issues.
Neither can I say what type of assessment they will choose to do.
