Mandatory Reconsideration Decision UPDATE

Mandatory Reconsideration - Confused? was created by Stress 1
MR was submitted back in April after receiving 0 points for both Daily and Mobility elements following a face to face assesment for mental health issues.

I contacted DWP today to be told my file had been allocated to a case manager 3 weeks ago, and the manager had then sought advice from ATOS assessment centre on the original assessment document, which had been received back from ATOS today.

I asked if the advice was sought from the Assessor who carried out the actual assessment back in March 2020 and wrote the report, or just a random Assessor from ATOS? The DWP colleague did not know and then tried to transfer me to the Reconsideration departmment -- but then cut me off.

Has anyone else had this experience or can explain to me what this means in terms of getting a decision back.

Thanks

Hi Stress 1

Sorry to hear about your woes, I personally have not experienced what you have gone through, my only advice would be to try and contact the relevant departments again, during this covid-19 the norm is no longer normal, a number of DWP workers are working from home and are struggling to access systems. I spoke tp DWP on Thursday who could not give me an answer to my query but would get a work colleague to contact me by end of the week, still not had the call yet but I will give them until Thursday before contacting them again. It is the sign of the times we live in at this moment in time.

Hi
Just to update on my MR following my earlier messages.

15 weeks since my MR was sent in, I received a telephone call from the DM 2 days ago. I was asked about the contents of the Assessors Report and in which areas I disagreed with it. She said very little, but I did get the chance to put across my concerns on the accuracy and reliability of the report, by providing additional examples.

Result of the MR today has gone from 0 points for both Daily Living & Mobility to Enhanced DL and Standard M...... I am so relieved. Frustrated by the whole process, but I just wanted to encourage everyone to keep fighting this unfair system.

2 years and the brown envelope will be due again :S
