Hi, pip have extended my claim withought contact due to coronavirus but I feel my conditions have worsened, I’m afraid to contact them for fear of loosing my benefit I am on standard rates. I am wondering if it is sensible to wait the extra year they have given me and leave any contacts till next years review Thank you
In case you are not aware, your real name appears to be showing in the forum, if you want to change this then follow the instructions in the following FAQ
This is a decision that only you can make but one thing you should check first is whether your worsened conditions will actually result in your scoring the extra points needed for a higher award, a deterioration does not always mean that this will happen.
Have a look at our PIP Claim guide to review the criteria that you will need to meet.
If you are reasonably certain that you will score the points needed then you can decide whether to report a Change or not. Be aware if you do that it will result in a new PIP2 being sent and you will need to provide evidence to show that you meet the new criteria. The New Decision, whatever it is will supersede your existing award.
