Hi Team
Would you be able to clarify if someone who has lost their job (job ended due to pandemic) can claim jobseekers allowance if the company has agreed to continue to pay their salary for 3 months. ?

We don't advise on JSA so the information I can provide is limited, also, things are in flux because of the pandemic and benefits are transitioning back to their original "rules" from the emergency ones put in place earlier in the year,

You can only make a new claim for New Style JSA which is a Contribution only benefit and is not affected by income.

So the key question becomes, are you still employed or is the payment in lieu of notice or holiday pay? If the former then I don't believe that you can make a claim but if the latter then you should be OK.
