Contacted DWP to inform them would like an MC, that I will be supplying more evidence and a letter disputing decision makers assessment decision based on errors and misrepresentations. DWP claim that once a formal request is made on the phone that there is no specific date the letter and evidence need to arrive by. Is this true? I requested an extension on the timeframe but received this response. I also asked for the Capita report, which DWP allege will be sent to their alternative format department. This department takes forever and this is why I sought the extension. The call handler claimed the decision maker would be able to view all these requests and take it into consideration. Are these porky pies?

DWP policy may have changed due to the pandemic but previously to that, claimants were given four weeks which included postage to provide any additional evidence that they wanted to be considered. For the most part, they stuck to the four weeks but have been known to make a Decision quicker than this.

There is no "extension" to the process as there are no defined timescales in the first place, the DWP will make their Decision when they decide to make it.

Recently MR Decisions were taking upwards of 12 weeks so you may have more time but I would not rely on this.
