PIP Claim Termination At Claim End Date Afterunal was created by @Shiremoorpotter
Hi, just a quick query. I received a letter from the DWP on Saturday, telling me that me PIP was ending in November. There was no indication of them intending to review
After contacting them this morning, they've told me that PIP claims that go to Tribunal are NOT reviewed and that at the end of the claim period, a new application must be submitted
I've never come across anything about this before and would appreciate your advice and guidance
Thanks

All Fixed Term awards end on the End Date and all Fixed Term awards require some form of assessment to be carried out in order for a new award to be made.
What changes is how the DWP choose to carry out this process, there is some truth to the comment about Decisions made by a Tribunal, the DWP has chosen to interpret a UTT Decision in a particular way and require claimants to go through a renewal process.
You need to contact the PIP Claim line and ask to make a renewal, it is important that you refer to it as a "renewal" rather than a "new" claim to avoid any issues that might result from describing it as new.
You will receive a new PIP2 and you will need to provide evidence to support your claim even if you have sent it before.

Thanks for this, it explains why our daughter got the same process. It also does tend to confirm the popular cynical opinion that DWP choose to treat those who have 'beaten' them as harshly as possible next time around.... interesting though that whoever answered this call actually said this was the process.

Thanks for that.
When I contacted them to ire-initiate the PIP process, it seems I was lucky to mention that it was to renew and not initiate a new claim.
Should the claims pack I receive, mention that it's a renewal?

Both call handlers I spoke to stated that it was the process.
The first, confirming with her supervisor, as I was asking where it was stated on any documentation that this would be the protocol.
The second, who initiated the new claim, also confirmed that it was how they processed PIP after a Tribunal. She also stated that the existing award would continue, until the outcome of the new claim was decided

You were lucky, they just stopped paying our daughter at the end date in January. Maybe Covid thing for you ?? Bank of Mum and Dad has been sending food via Tesco Parent-'Student' card [she's not a student but it doesn't matter]. God knows what happens to people without family/friends who can help out. Of course no bus pass etc in the gap.
Best wishes, Denby
